I'm a Saints fan, and I remember a season and a half ago making the grave mistake of pointing out who was leading the NFC in interceptions
I think we both have been bashed for stating that the reason the Saints didn't win the South last season was because of Drew's turnovers.

Better not point out 1 thing Reggie Bush has done to help the Saints either
I'm shocked that certain Reggie haters haven't shown up on this thread already...

Why do I seem to be the only one who sees this?
I agree with you. He is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, but that doesn't make-up for not being able to rebound or play defense. He had a few fouls where he needed a good, hard foul so there was no and 1, but he just gave a little pussy shove that resulted in a 3 point play

But back on topic, there were actually people saying that the Mavs are a "hardnosed" team?
Really?
Really?

I think that the Lakers sweep is a little fool's gold. Clearly the Mavs have to be tough to be able to do that, right? someone might think.

Doesn't that make him vastly overrated?
I've been arguing this for years. All he does is score. He can't rebound. He's a liability on defense. He's a one trick german pony.
Dirk will never be top 25 in my book. I just don't see it. Unless he wins 2-3 rings.

Dirk is a soft bitch. Yeah he's good, but if a 7 footer can't and refuses to crash the boards, he's soft in my book.

I know you don't like the guy, But his fade-away jummper is almost impossible to stop. He IS top twenty Title or not.

There's simply no good explanation for that
sure there is, its fixed, just ask GHAZI

Exactly. If one is waiting on the outcome of this series to determine whether or not Dirk is top 20, then I have to ask this:
How does Dirk magically change from "not top 20" to
"in top 20" based on the outcome of a team performance?

Please, please don't ever compare what LBJ was working with in Cleveland to what Dirk is working with in Dallas.
The Mavs look like a Dream Team compared to that Cavs team.

Being clutch and having post season success is part of the ranking. How is that not obvious?
There are exceptions. Malone and Stockton, Charles Barkley, etc. but that's because of the era they played in. He'll hover in my top 26-30.
I have a lot of respect for Dirk. His shot is fricking amazing and I hate him for it. But he's good... offensively.
If he does get in the top 25 in my book, he'll most likely be bumped out in the next 10-15 years. This new era of bball is gonna be incredible. Durant, Rose, Chris Paul, Love, Griffin, Howard, etc... They all have a chance of being in the top 25 at the end of their careers.

Great shooter, and that's it. If you're going to crack the top __ players of all time, you're going to need to be really good at two things at least.

because the first is largely a myth and the otehr is a product of team

When the best thing you have going for you is a skyhook then you are not that great. Think about it.

Oops... I read that and read the last part and put them together. I guess I mentally skipped the great shooter part.

I know your analysis typically sucks, but you just compared Dirk to Kareem and took it to a new level.
