He had a remarkable season on so many levels. He’s clearly the MVP no matter how that subjective title is awarded.
He’s the best player if he’s judged by old school accomplishments such as best player on the best team or batting average.
He’s the best player using more advanced stats such as WAR. His WAR was the highest since Barry Bonds over 15 years ago.
Only Ruth, Gehrig, and Mantle were younger than Betts when they had better seasons according to WAR.
