My point was that Ilia beat the more old fighters than Islam because the poster claimed the contrary. It wasn’t MMath related.

He’s a better version of McGregor

This is extremely disrespectful to Topuria.

McGregor loses to the top 7 current Lightweights and probably gets pushed by a #8 Paddy.

Dude was already overrated as a pure striker and could never compete with the modern ground game of these guys.

How so? He’s a better version as in I don’t see him losing to a Nate Diaz type & probably more popular. I don’t see him chasing the $ and cocaine.

McGregor’s run from 2015-2018 was the best the UFC has ever seen until Topuria

He’s more well rounded. He has McGregor’s power, but has way better grappling than Connor.

Not only was it not "the best" until Topuria but it was greatly overrated and he didn't even have any high profile fights until the 1 where he got his shite pushed in.

Its not a comparison, they aren't in the same stratosphere. McGregor wasn't that great, he peaked at a perfect time in a mid division. Literally the second the division got stronger he got his arse kicked and then disappeared. Weak arse legacy.

You can just say you don’t like him, but he was the biggest star UFC ever had.

That's exactly why I don't like him! O'Malley is legit just an offbrand Conor. Not that great and over marketed by the UFC because he brings in money. McGrgeor was the greatest entertainer and money maker in UFC. Has nothing to do with being an overrated fighter who got his arse kicked by anyone better and never even defended his title once. That just screams "greatest run of all time"....

His legacy is a fricking joke and the way people talk about how great he is is an even bigger joke.

You can't have "greatest run ever" when you never even defended your title and lost to anyone better than you. Not once did he fight anyone considered better than him and beat them. Not once did he fight with the title and keep it.

His "greates run" was running away from the UFC so it didn't tarnish his legacy when he came back and got pushed to #8-#15 in the division.

That potential fight vs Jean Silva would’ve been interesting. But Silva could still move up to LW.
