It will be huge, outside of St. Louis, not many people dislike the Cubs.

the baseball "hate" among so many MLB fans is pretty funny. and by funny, i mean pathetic and sad.

it is rare in the NFL and NBA but common all over baseball.

NFL and NBA teams don't play each other 19 times a year.

so you think the hatred amongst baseball fans has to with how much they play each other?

if that was the case then shouldn't the cubs only be hated by national league fans and the yankees/sox only be hatedby americal league fans?

i think the never ending fountain of hate in MLB has more to do with envy than standings

Do not most fans love/hate the Cowboys? Same with the Patriots.

i explained that earlier...now, most fans hate them because they are on top

the way they hated the 49'ers in the 80's

in baseball it is different...more than just the teams on top are hated. yes, there are some rivalries in the NBA and NFL, but by in large....the teams on top are hated on the most

i can understand hating on the teams that are on top...that is for on the field/court reasons....but it is obvious people don't hate the cubs for what they have done on the field

I have always hated the cubs. Hated them when they lost. Every sport has fans that hate other teams because of envy.

yes, every sport has them....just not as much as baseball. its like die hard MLB fans can't be truly happy unless there is 1 team that they just absolutely hate (very similar to college football...the need or desire for a hated rival). look around the MSB. how many die hard MLB fans do we have here that do not carry disdain for one team or another and it is largely based regardless of on field results.

in MLB and NFL, the teams on top are the ones who are hated the most...as they fade, so does their hatred...does anyone even hate the 49'ers anymore? no! why? because they are irrelevant.

yet MLB fans just carry this off the field level of hate for no other reasons than off the field jealousy like no other (MLB, NFL & NBA)

not really. not anymore

they did when we both sucked and there was actually some kind of rivalry, BUT i'd say more saints fans hate the cowboys now than the falcons.

excluding of course alot of the black fans....also of the black saints fans i have met hate the falcons b/c of some apparant atlanta/NO rivalry amongst the two cultures

BUT, even in the saints/falcons scenerio...you are picking fans of supposed rival teams....are you a cardinals fan? is that why you hate the cubs?

Braves fan.

that would be like a eagles fan hating the cardinals IMO, not like a saints fan hating the falcons

feel free to hate the cubs, no skin offmy back. i know alot of people hate the cubs...i mainly think sob/c so many people love the cubs

people who hate the cubs say they have so many fans who love them for no reason...people have no ties to chicago..just b/c of WGN....which is true

BUT, then again people hate the cubs for less reasons than WGN IMO

i starying watching the cusb when i was a kid b/ci didn't like cartoons. i still don't. never have. not family guy, not south park, not fraggle rock, not thundercats...none really (other than a few select).....i liked saved bythe bell and the cubs....which is what was on WGN every day when i came home from school

i grew up playing 2nd base b/c of ryne sandberg and because i was a saints fan, i fell in love with the lovable losers

for the life of me, i just can't understand why it is so much more prevelant in baseball than NBA and NFL
