Do you think he has more championships? I know it’s impossible to tell what the rest of his team would have looked like but don’t you feel like if those two could have got together early they could have really done something magnificent?

Kobe and Jordan are legends but they also had the benefit of a great coach who knew what to do to put them in position to win championships.

If Bron is coached by Phil and Jordan and Kobe never were, do you think we have a new GOAT?

Tyron Lue stepped in one year and won a championship. Spoelstra won 2. Take away Kyrie or Wade, Lebron has 0 rings. On court talent > coaching.

No.

Our GOAT would still be Lebron James.

He could definitely have used a better coach in the finals against the Mavs. Carlisle shite all over Spoelstra in that series.

All else equal, maybe one more (against the Mavs). But that's about it

You just proved my point. It was the players that got together to win in Miami not a coach like Phil. Same in Cleveland. Lebron has always kinda did his own thing and it’s worked well for him but Jordan and Kobe never went rouge in their whole career because they had the benefit of a great coach. What if Lebron would have had that same luxury. Do you understand the question now?

That would have been cool to see also if he did it immediately. But later in his career I don’t think he thinks he needs a coach at this point.

Instead of ending up with a great coach early on in his career he decided to give his all in bringing Cleveland a championship and spent too long there in the beginning. That’s why he never had a chance at chasing Jordan’s rings imho.

Bron has always done his own thing, and never had a great coach. I’m just saying what if he had the same experience as Kobe and Jordan as far as NBA coaching goes.

Normally I agree until you’re talking about pop or Phil.

What year did Phil win without the best talent?

I just don't think Phil is an example of on court talent not being greater than coaching. I don't even really think Pop is. The players are always more important in the NBA. Coaching still matters though.

I think it takes both to be consistently great for long periods of time. Therefor becoming the Goat. Look at Brady and Bill. Both are legends. Could they have done it without each other?

You are discrediting what an elite coach and a good organization can do. Look at the damn Spurs versus the New York Knicks or OKC.

Lol

Everyone needs help to win a title. Lebron has probably done more "by himself" than any other all time great. He took a team with legitimate nobodies to the finals. The last few years, he carried the Heat and a declining Wade to the finals. The first year of his Cavs return, he swept a 60 win Hawks team in the ECF, without Kevin Love and Kyrie missing two games. Then he made a series out of it with one of the greatest teams of all time in the finals, down Love, Kyrie, and JR- his next three best players. Just last year, he closed out road playoff games versus Indy and Toronto that were close or tied going into the 4th, while Kyrie and Love sat the bench the entire quarter.

What did MJ do without Scottie?
