If LBJ wins a ring this year, does his performance start to slow?

Does he take his foot off the pedal next season, or does he still come out playing aggressive yearning for another ring? I think after all that he's been through, one ring will satisfy him, the Heat will still be in the hunt but I don't believe the production will still be the same, all factors considered (age, wear and tear.)

Not one.. not two.. not three.. not four... not five... not six..... not seven

Nah, he still has 7 more to go after this year..
In all honesty, I think if he wins this year he will probably win 2 more with Miami and eventually go back to Cleveland and ball hard with Kyrie til he retires

No way he's sniffing 7, that was obviously just for entertainment purposes. I do commend him on reaching 3 finals thus far in his career.

I don't see this happening. If he wins a title in Miami, I think he retires there. Maybe he does a sign and retire in CLE as an attempted patch up, but I don't see him playing another game in a Cav uniform, especially as long as Dan Gilbert is the owner.

I think he'll only win 1 with Miami, with that being this year.

human nature would tend to indicate yes, but I don't think you reach where LBJ is by letting yourself settle when reaching a certain point

It may,or if things work out right he may try to put together a run of titles. He may become even more dominant

I think with the current squad, he will win a couple with Miami. If they trade Wade for a big man and a reliable PG, then the sky is the limit

He can't attempt to slow. In a couple of years his legs will go. He is already showing alot of fatigue after games. In past years Bron never looked tired. So if he doesnt develop a consistence outside game, he will be a shell of his self at about 30 or 31. 12/ 13 years is alot on the legs even for LeBron.
BTW this isn't a hate post. I've learned to respect Bron and take him for what he is and not what he is not. That being said the King and Chosen 1 talk is still absurd in my eyes.

Whenever LeBron chose to sign with Miami, he did so bc Pat Riley sold him on a vision that he'd be able to compete for multiple titles there. In fact it was a 10 year vision that Riley laid out to him. That was the origin of the "Not 1, Not 2" comment in the first place. With that in mind, I have a hard time believing, he'll start dogging it after he gets one. He's at a much different stage in his career than say a guy like Dirk.

and a reliable PG,
Chalmers is only in his 3rd season. With the progress he's shown this post season, I think he is that point guard.
A huge Center would be good for them to get (Fab Melo if he drops to #27), but if not possible, then a young versatile SF/PF to replace Haslem and give LeBron rest would be a nice get as well. Someone like Draymond Green.

Most likely he will slow down, won't be as hungry...that's just human nature but he will still be the best player in the NBA.
ETA: this applies to the regular season only though, expect him to turn it up again in the play-offs.

If by a couple you mean maybe one this year and maybe one next year, then yes I agree that's very possible.
I worry about Wades health and age after that though

Competitive advantage over the other teams that played the same amount of games?

For what reason, exactly?

Just for it being associated with something else.
Whomever wins title, it's a legit ring with nothing that makes it worth less than another years championship. BUT it will probably be linked to a shortened season historically speaking like Duncan's first one in 99.
Doesnt diminish it at all but the 2 things, shirt season + LBJ's first ring would almost always be mentioned together when brought up.

It was sarcasm.
But you know the Skip Bayless's of the world will bring this up immediately when the Heat win. LeBron haters can't cave and will have to create an argument, anything at all, and this is what they will hang on to.
