I agree. Marciano isn't even a top 10 all-time heavyweight.

Whatever man. Virgil Hill is like a rich man's Michael Spinks. A one-man juggernaut. What, you hadn't heard?

Rocky Marciano did beat Joe Louis.
but he was 137 years old.

Is this even possible? In more ways than one. You people let your hate for a great boxer cloud your judgement way too much.

Floyd is a great boxer but I am not overly impressed by him.

He has ducked some fights in his time. Also there has not been much competition for him during his prime. That is not his fault, but it doesn't help his case in my opinion. I could never put him in my top 10

Looks like they are trying to make it happen for September.

Schaefer said he is hopeful of finalizing a fight between Mayweather, the pound-for-pound king, and unified junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, a match that looms as one of the biggest in boxing.

Sounds promising. The weight will be a sticking point. Mayweather is more likely to fight him at 154 -- even though he wouldn't weigh that -- than Alvarez is to fight at 147 (though he's fought welterweight before...he could do it).

I think most boxing experts/historians agree with this too. Early Ali would have been right there if the US government had not fricked him out of his prime years. "What's my name?

Here is a good clip on the second "what's my name" fight (Ernie Terrell). He makes Terrell looks so clumsy and awkward. He makes him look like an amateur...and not even a good amateur.

What's My Name pt. 2

I may have to change my mind. Early Ali might just be #1 P4P.
