Leach is an amazing coach but like someone else mentioned I don't think he would be successful at every place. Places like Lubbock, Pullman, and Laramie, Boulder, or Fort Collins are perfect for him though.
He wouldn't be a good fit at an SEC program because he is too unorthodox to be given full autonomy. Washington State doesn't question his every move; SEC fans and administrators would.

What's the best fit for him this offseason in the sec?
Ole miss
Arkansas
Tennessee
Auburn
I'd say Arkansas or Ole Miss
Was just going ask the same question. But as many have already said, he wouldn't work in the SEC except maybe at Kentucky (where he has history) and Vandy. There he would be so under the radar he could get things done his way.
Even at places like Arakansas (which i belive Fayetteville fits his personality best in the whole conference), I don't know if he'd work.
The fanbases are just too cynical down here and if he didn't win 9 games immediately he'd be run out of town.
Of the open jobs, he might also work at Tennessee, but I doubt it too. There is no way in hell Auburn or LSU could handle the pirate... The fans and administrators would go insane.

He's been there since 2012 and he's just now got Wazzou competing in the Pac 12 again. The SEC wouldn't have given him a chance.
Let's remember the guy lost to two an FCS schools in '15 and '16 and there was a little heat after he lost to Eastern Washinton last year
Why wouldn't the SEC "given him a chance"?
I'm sure it would depend on the school amd circumstances.
Butch and Bert are still around.
Are you saying it was mistake for Florida
to get rid of Muschamp or Auburn to get rid
of Chizik?
I guess you could make a case for Miles not to
getting fir3d and it's looking like firing Mark Richt was the right move for UGA

You just need to give him a chance to build the program. He's been there since 2012 and he's just now got Wazzou competing in the Pac 12 again. The SEC wouldn't have given him a chance.
Washington State needed a full remake. Say he went to A&M, I don't think it would take nearly that long.

He is a walking meme of zero fricks given.
he doesn't give a shite what anyone says or does, it's his way and that's it.
Dude is a winner and a great football coach.

He's a great coach and I'm surprised a program bigger than Washington State or Texas Tech hasn't hired him.
Dude gives zero fricks about boosters. And the guys writing the checks want to feel important.

Leach would absolutely kill it in recruiting down here. I was taking a look at their roster and it's filled with athletes from California, Florida, and even two from Louisiana, Davontavean Martin WR from Houma and Hunter Dale a Safety went to John Curtis. If he can convince kids from those places to go to Pullman, WA which is in the rural part of the state next to the border of Idaho then I believe he could pull in top classes easily at places like LSU, Ole Miss, or A&M

He would be scary at ole miss. He would excel in the SEC. he already coached at Kentucky 20 years ago so he’s familiar with the south.

USC is so overrated and the poster child of why pre/early season rankings are a joke......that said it's hard not to like Leach when he's winning, when he's not doing so well is act can get old quick.
He didn't do a ton of loading to A&m or by tech standards

If he stays there they might name a building after him.
