Cristobal teams always show out in the first game. They're always good for a couple of duds later in the season though. It's just a matter of if that can keep them out. They had those same duds last year, they just managed to still make the playoffs in spite of it and then make a run.

And then we'll be at the point where we only care about the postseason performance, care less about regular season performance as long as we qualify for the postseason which is becoming less difficult to do as more spots open up, and then truly CFB as we loved it will be dead. We're already nearly there.

With all the Sankey lsu drama what’s bee under the radar is Sankey just put forth his proposal for the conditions needed to be met for the 24 team playoff, that the B1G already wants, to get approval from the SEC

An example of this already is look at how weak this week 1 is this year.
There used to be a lot of p4 vs p4, often ranked, match ups this week.
Now we have lsu vs Clemson, ole Miss vs Louisville, and…?

They are very good this year, but so is Ohio State, Texas, and Oregon.

Mensah is light years better than Beck.
Toney might be the best player in CFB.
Their schedule is ridiculously weak.
They easily could run the table.

Can’t buy the Oregon hype until they actually win it all. Lanning seems like a James Franklin, good coach but not elite and not winning at Oregon, which is like a west coast Penn state (very very good but not elite)

Stanford had some big time drops by wide open guys early and I thought they were closer than it ended up being, but Miami shut that theory down

They def have tons of talent and Lanning seems to be a good motivator.
But he seems to be missing something. Maybe it’ll come with experience but he got his doors blown off the past two playoffs. Granted it was against the eventual natty winner but to get ran off the field like a tune up opponent against those teams in a big game is concerning considering the talent he has on his roster.

I feel like they always lacked physicality. Especially in the past, but it still seems like they are always smaller than everyone they play.
They always have speed and athleticism, but always seem to get out muscled.

That has been the case more often than not.
I remember when Auburn beat them in the natty even though it was close Auburn looked a bit bigger and stronger on the lines and didn’t play a particularly clean game or might have won more convincingly but a guy at the bar where I was watching that game who was rooting for Oregon did concede that Auburn looked a bit stronger/better
Same as with lsu in 2011 and in the natty against Ohio state in 2014/15
The one time they looked more physical against an elite team was when Cristobal went to the horseshoe and pushed Ohio state around
