I think I said that. This thread is a bash USC thread. There are plenty of bash tOSU threads on this board, but feel free to start another.

Nah. Downtown LA has improved a lot just in the last 5 years as they added about 10-15 thousand more residents. It's been an amazing turnaround. And USC's campus is much nicer than portrayed here. It's more urban and compact than most BCS schools, but as long as you're not averse to red brick it's pretty nice. And while the area immediately around USC won't be confused with Beverly Hills, it's hardly Compton either. And that too has been on the rise along with downtown.

Ever since California did away with considering race during the admissions process for public colleges and universities UCLA has virtually no black students to speak of outside of athletes. I wonder how much that factors into these decisions? An unusual number of UCLA's "black" athletes are mixed race.

On the up side, UCLA has built a ping-pong dynasty.

True, but just sayin' that it's likely a selling point for recruits now instead of a place to avoid letting them see.

Honestly, i don't think it's a selling point at all. It's not really a young football player hangout area anyway. But, you can now at least cut through downtown and not worry about them saying crazy shite to deter them from coming.

yeah, would be a great place for college kids to run some arse. Last night I almost bumped into some big SOB walking around in UCLA hoops gear....with my truck. The intersections right there around Weyburn and Broxton are a clusterfrick.

Seriously if I was a recruit, I would want

Chance to win NC every year (check)
Chance to be on TV every game (check)
Good education (check)
Good tradition (check)
Great weather (check)
Good fanbase (check)
Good facilities (check)

USC is one of ten teams that can say this
