Nobody ever considered him an elite QB and he had horrendous years. If Eli gets in just because of two Super Bowls then Plunkett should be in yesterday.

Lets not move the goalposts HOF Committee just because of family name.

He shouldn’t go at all, but he’ll get in eventually

FWIW, Pro Football Reference has him scored as just below an average Hall of Fame QB.

Whether or not he gets in the hall, he's still been a fun arse QB to watch and follow.

40 minutes of Rivers mic'd up

Eventually.

Yes. 1st ballot.

Rivers has 0 all pros and 0 SBs.

But he's top-10 in nearly every category. He'll get in eventually, also, but not before Ryan. I could aee him and Stafford going in the same class.

Depends on the class that year. I say maybe 6-8 years

It will depend on who retires this year, and the Hall of Fame backlog.

On the upside for Rivers, the past few years haven't been spawning a ton of great candidates-- take the potential class of 2025-- its Eli Manning as the best candidate, then maybe....Luke Kuechly? Vernon Davis? Darren Sproles?-- not deep at all.

The class of 2024 wasn't much stronger. Gronk returning to play makes Antonio Gates the only no-dobuter in that one, with guys like Ngata, Nelson, and Seabass as the only other somewhat interesting guys, unless you give Andrew Luck a biiiig injury discount.

2023 offers more potential inductees, but aside from Revis, Joe Thomas, and James Harrison, no one jump jumps off that page.

If the Hall uses these years to flush out some of the better candidates that are still a little squeezed, there is no reason not to expect Phil Rivers in the Hall in 10 years.

He just doesn't get in based on the current criteria...needing SBs and accolades.

He never won a SB, losing record in the playoffs, never made an All-Pro but played a long-time, threw for a bunch of yards like everybody else the last 20 years and had tons of babies.

He's pretty much a modern era QB with longevity. He was better than Eli though but Eli has the rings and piggy-backing his family name to the Hall.
