The point is the story is being hyped all out of proportion to its importance.

Sounds to me like you are going through every possible verbal gymnastic to avoid placing the blame squarely at the feet of DS for his bigoted remarks.
I don't agree with DS's comments, not in the least. However, I don't agree with private conversations being made public, and I don't agree with this ho's attempt to extort the man.

Irrelevant. Once something like this comes to light, the important thing is that the individual be held accountable.

Neither here nor there.
Maybe if he hadn't made a habit of saying racist things to his minority gf, she wouldn't have felt comfortable extorting him in this manner. It ain't exactly rocket science that she's a gold digger. He was a fool, and he and his money will soon be parted.

The Clippers have already suffered hits in endorsements, and he most likely will be suffering a penalty from the league today.

They'll probably get some sort of small fine, but this whole issue will be over once the Clips exit the playoffs. Endorsements are pulling away right now because it is a "hot button" topic, but like with Tiger they will be back.

Incorrect. Agents for high profile free agents have already indicated that they'll be steering their clients away from the Clippers as long as Sterling is the owner. The coach won't even definitively answer questions as to whether he'll return to reprise his role until judgment has been levied by the league on Sterling. This will continue to be an issue as long as Sterling is in a prime position of power.

Of course they will come back eventually. How quickly will depend on the perception of the league's handling of DS. IMO, there is no place in the league for a man with the racist views of DS.

They say that because it is good PR for them. In reality, they will steer their clients to the team offering the players (and therefore the agent) the most $.

Disagree. In a minority-driven league, players aren't going to be running to play for DS, especially after this latest brouhaha.
The impact will continue to be felt as long as DS holds a position of power whether folks realize it or not.

It's a huge fricking deal.

I don't think the players will care that much TBH. I think if the Clips have a solid roster and they are offering competitive salary, players won't hesitate to go there. Being in LA helps also.

He's not worried about money believe that

Money talks, if he's paying more money than what the other teams are offering players will go there.

You love saying in a minority driven league...it's getting annoying.
No player will not accept a check because the owner is racist. Green is the most important color to all of them.

Of course I'm not implying that the entire Clippers' franchise will go under or anything, you understand

There's also much more pertinent basketball matters that will factor into player decisions to play there or not.

Maybe a "few" players but the majority of the players in the NBA want to get PAID. If he's throwing the money out there to sign free agents they will come. Players don't play for the owners, they play for themselves and the fans.

No shite.
Doesn't mean that they should tolerate DS' bigoted views.

Again, no shite.
A good owner is usually hardly noticed by even his own fans, much less others (quick, name five owners without googling that don't include your favorite team or DS). No one wants to be associated with someone like DS, though. Just because he holds the purse strings doesn't mean his employees should just shut up and take it when their owner expresses views like this.
