The Jim Harbaugh-led program went to France and Italy the previous two years. The coach has mentioned Greece, Spain and Cuba as possible destinations for the annual opportunities for his players to learn and bond.

Michigan alumni Bobby Kotick and Don Graham funded last year's trip to France, and Kotick paid for the visit to Italy in 2017. Harbaugh has said Kotick will pay for the tours as long as the coach wants to do them.

You can go anywhere you want for a certain number of days as long as you take everyone

I'm talking about the funding side of it. Is that not the definition of a booster.
It's one thing for the university to pay for it.

Maybe they donate it to Michigan athletics and it is above NCAA board. I would guess they've vetted that.

Basketball teams can play those international exhibitions once every four years which could be similar.

Big difference in taking the guys to Frankie’s and Red Lobster on a Friday night and flying them across the world for a couple of weeks vacation that an alumni pays for.

The Big Ten has all but gotten away with murder the last few years between child molesters/rapists away from the field of play to paying players to making a mockery of transfers, to allowing boosters to bribe players with vacations. If any SEC program had one instance of any of those events going down at their school, ESPN and other national pundits would crawl up their arse.

Conference of Legends and Leaders indeed.

Athletes get a lot of benefits, from shoes to clothing to facilities, all of which aren't normal student things.

The Michigan trips are team building, they're just on a larger scale than most are accustomed to. For instance, Clemson has a lake day with jet ski rentals and all. Michigan just has taken the concept to a much larger level, but the underlying concept is the same.

Well they've got all those retroactively claimed titles from the days when black people weren't allowed to play.

Only thing that matters to Michigan is winning the offseason.
