re: How Do You Stay Positive When You Teams Suck So Bad for So Long?

I laugh at Cubs fans for their loser attitudes and for their flawed logic that holds that the only measure of a team's quality is a championship. They've had some good teams but they failed to pull it off because, in part, of the loser culture that permeates that franchise. If your own fans and press tell you that you suck all the time, even when you're winning, it starts to seep in and disrupt your success. Instead of looking forward to winning, you start looking for the ways you're going to blow it, because everyone knows that's what you do.
For this reason I kind of think that there is a sizable number of Cubs fans who actually don't want their team to win because that is so much of their (the fans') identity. So that's kind of sad.

I remember chanting 1940 at the Rangers fans.

And I'm sure they got pissed. Cubs fans, on the other hand, just resign themselves to losing.
That's the difference.

I miss that chant. It really rolled off the tongue.

With baseball, I keep looking for minor league stars and give myself false hope. Otherwise I am spoiled with the success of the Spurs and Cowboys in my lifetime.

If you are a mariners fan are you also a Seahawks fan?
I'm from LA so no. I loved Griffey,A-Rod, Edgar, etc. as a kid and didn't become a bandwaggoner when they left.
