On the last play of my football career I scored a TD. Last game of the regular season, winner goes to the playoffs. I score a go ahead TD in the 3rd quarter (played WR). Got hit right outside the goal line, and landed just right to tear the muscle from my hip. Wound up losing on a hail mary.

Couldn't play basketball due to the injury.

Won County in tennis at #2 single, and won doubles also.

Played football until I broke my arm during practice.

Never made the basketball team.

Lettered in golf.

Never won any titles or had any contact with college coaches.

So my high school sports career was not even mediocre.

Mine ended by losing the last game. They won the state championship the year after.

Quit football my junior year

Senior year xc: 7th at 3A state

Senior year track: 4th in the 1600 at state, 3rd in the 3200

Went on to run at ULM

Senior year there: nothing special just like everything else. Did set a :40 PR in my last 10k at sunbelt outdoors though

To this day, depression sets in anytime I think of this individual named Randy Verdin.
