No, I'm saying you can't just compare the numbers 39.6% to a guy who shoots 45%.

You have to take into account how they are scoring those points.

Sure but that is devalued if you're pretty darn inefficient.

And again...defense.

His TS% is 53% this year and has been 55% the past couple of years.

He's not as inefficient as you think he is.

Plus, he's a guy you can pass the ball to and he's instant offense. He can score however he wants. He's not a guy that needs to be set up for shots. That's why he's valuable and how he helps teams win.

When you're out there with the Spencer Hawes and Jordan Farmar, putting up shots at 39% is EFFICIENT. Those guys are worse.

He's a great FT shooter, and i'm talking about right now/this season, not previous seasons.

Ok, but he's instant very meh offense...and again, defense, you've had to have a take on his defense.

Free throws count on the score board.

Life is great...being the Jon Gruden of the MSB where every player is a hall of famer sounds terrible, i'll let you play that role.

Ask me about Chris Paul, see how negative I am!!!

I'm aware.

His TS% was good for 189th in the league this season, 34th among shooting guards. Am i really missing out on his efficiency?

Honestly, is that not well below average?

And AGAIN...defense

The TS% is alarming. But Crawford is a guy who can get your offense going when nothing is working. As a Rockets fan, I value a perimeter player that can score by himself, since we only have one on the whole roster.

I've even come to appreciate Lin more this year because I can see what we are missing without him. Instant offense guys are never efficient, but lots of guards would be WAY less efficient trying to do what they do.

My point is, how valuable is it actually if it's being done so very inefficiently? It's obviously not nearly as valuable.

Inefficient scorer, horrible defender, doesn't rebound, pass or anything like that. Why is it soooooooo crazy to say he's not an average basketball player?

Ding.

And Lin cannot score like Crawford.

And now because Lin is gone, you can see what a player like Crawford could bring to a team who lacks that type of player.

It's fair to say he's not an average player. I think he is a liability on the floor when you are trying to play your regular game. But there aren't too many players better than Crawford when you are just looking to shake things up.

Of course you'd rather a player be more efficient than less efficient...

But a player like Crawford keeps the offense going.

Without players like him, offenses can grind to a halt and go through some serious lulls.

Yup. And all of the numbers said that Lin was inefficient and such. But you can't put a metric on a player's ability to loosen up a defense. Guys like Crawford and Lin absolutely do that.

Fwiw, that was my main point, that was it, that he is not an average NBA player.

Boom, is SwaggerCopter just trying to prop up Chris Paul too?

I would argue that Redick is the second best SG in the NBA that Chris Paul could gel with, the first being Klay Thompson. A guy who doesn't need the ball in his hands and likes to take spot-up threes is perfect for his game.
