Heading to lake Hamilton, just south of hot springs, next week for vacation. What are some good courses in the vicinity?

find someone that can get you in to Hot Springs Village.. Some of the finest golf courses that I've ever played on.

Are they all good? Any particular one (I think there are 4)?

I was at DeGray Lake last Summer (about 30 miles away) and played the golf course there at the State Park. I thought it was a nice course - especially for a State Park. Went during the week in the afternoon and the wife and I basically had the course to ourselves.

Diamonte is HS village's signature course. Balboa is good. You can play HS country club with a stay at the Arlington or reciprocal play. Belvedere is a fun(but not super nice) course that is open to the public.

I am a member of Hot Springs Village and play there every week.

All the courses are good but I would target Grenada, Isabella, Ponce de Leon, Balboa, or Cortez. Desoto is Ok but it is the oldest course out there and not as good as the others in my opinion. Coronado is a short course......no par 5s. Just short par 4s and several par 3s. Diamanté is a private course.

All the courses have marshals that monitor the pace of play. If you lag behind, then they ask you to pick up the pace or pick up your ball and move ahead. They are more lax in the hot summer afternoons though since very few people are out there. That is when we play.....it is like we have our own private course.

You can play there as a guest if you have a member with you or if you are renting a house inside the Village. You might call them to see if you can play otherwise.
