I agree with you and I'll say this. I have been following horse racing for a few years now, and I still don't really know shite. Yes, I've had a few lucky days at the track or betting online while watching the races, but overall I have a pretty disappointing record. I've had MUCH better luck betting on football since I completely understand the game and all the factors that are involved.

Horse betting is fun, but I've learned to always expect to lose when I bet. $2-$5 exactas and maybe a bit larger exotic bet on the bigger races is all I'll do.

I quit years ago.

Its all entertainment. If you have a one or two hundred bucks to blow on entertainment, it makes for a fun afternoon.

You get that 'thrill' of thinking your horse has a chance to win and sometimes it does.

It like I used to tell people who walked away disappointed, the track has to make money, otherwise they wouldn't be in bid'ness.
