High School Refs - Racist??

My daughter is on the high school basketball team here is a sleepy little town in NLA. After watching her team play throuhout the season I have come to realize one thing. Since her team is predominantly one race and all of the other teams they play are predominantly of another race. The fact that all of the refs in our area are predominantly the same race as the other teams, means that her teams is always fighting an uphill battle.
Not saying they would be winning more games. They have won their share this year.

I ref and don't give a shite who wins as long as I get paid. Most officials are the same way. If it is a game with a black vs. white school around here you will rarely get a crew that isn't balanced
I did have a coach from another association (white coach and team) tell me that while in a game an official told him that he wouldn't get a call until he had a black kid on the team.

I reff HS as well and I can tell you from many conversations with other officials both black and white the priorities are:
Get through the game without incident
Get through the game without getting hurt
Get paid
Go home
Believe it or not refs with character don't really care who wins or loses
If they don't have character they won't be able to hide it and they will wash out

Some are believe me. This may not be the best example but I play in a rec league where my team is the only predominately white team in the league. The refs are Lhsaa refs and are black as well. My team is 1-5 right now and every game has been so obvious that the refs are racist. We've been up at halftime in every game except one and always end up losing by about 10. 2 games have gone into overtime and we lost both.

yes they are when I played FB at West Jeff we lost to Hahnville, Jesuit (twice), Rummel, and a few other Catholic league schools probably by less than 4 points each game. Refs would always screw us over.

City league officiating is garbage
Just because they are LHSAA Reffs doesn't mean anything in city league
I quit playing city league a long time ago because of the BS Reffs
No decent LHSAA reff is going to do city league. Too much headache and it puts too many miles on the tires
All you will get in city league is young guys, guys that work solely for money and older guys that suck and don't get HS assignments any more because they suck

The associations are so desperate for referees, that they'll take anyone willing to put on the stripes.
I watch a lot of basketball games, and I normally see the Lake Charles association, the Central association, and occasionally the Lafayette....all usually very mediocre to poor.
And sometimes it's just not quite obvious, and sometimes it is, but what are you going to do about it?

Local refs are usually very racist. I find that most are black and will make calls based on feeling. goofy white guy will get called for traveling for just lacking swagga. popular black kid gets free pass.
the few white refs do the same thing, presumably because they want the love of their peers.

Ever notice that only white teammates congratulate white players in sports when they've done something good? Especially kickers, you will never see a brother congratulate his kicker.

I think the real point is all refs suck in someones mind. If you arent getting the calls then you think they are bad. If the other team isnt getting the calls then they think the refs are bad. Almost 100% of the time 1/2 of the competators are unhappy. Thats just the way things go. And refs are human too, if you are rude to them, do you really expect to get a call? Showing emotion or throwin a fit after every call just looks trashy and irritates people trying to do their job. They don't walk into your office and tell you how to suck off your customers.
With all that being said, I see it less race based and more on who is "supposed to make the playoffs." It seems the teams with the most tradition and wins are the favorites majority of the time.
