re: Has this quarantine gotten anyone else interested in sports cards?

I need to find my binder with my old NBA cards. A few of the inserts should be worth a little. And every little bit helps since I no longer have a job. I had over 100 Jordan cards at one point. eBay sent me a promo for 1000 free listings for trading cards. What's the best way to move low value inserts and parallels of stars? I sold a few on eBay, but with $3 shipping they aren't easy to move. I am thinking about ditching the padded envelope and just sending them in the plain white envelope and hope they don't get damaged.

I do tons of orders in the $3-5 range for Pokemon and magic. As long as you sleeve the card, put it in a toploader and then use a little bit of take so it doesn't come out of the top loader, you'll be just fine shipping in a plain white envelope.
I buy all my materials in bulk, including stamps, so I'm at ~$0.50 in shipping costs.
Any order $25 and higher, I ship in a bubble mailer with first class to get tracking

I don't mind shipping anything under $5 in white envelope. But anything over I prefer a bubble envelope. Using first class on a white envelope you don't get tracking, and sometimes USPS is annoyingly slow. I sold something last year that mysteriously took 2 weeks to travel 500 miles. I once bought a $30 card that somehow took 8-9 months before I got it. Tracking show it was delivered to my mailbox a few days after the auction ended. But I didn't get it until all that time later. And I still have no idea why. The box wasn't damaged. And the label wasn't torn and printed clearly.
Using tape on top loaders is frowned upon within the hobby. Unless using painter's tape, peeling tape leaves annoying residue on the top loaders. The residue is often hard to rub off the top loader. And the tape can damage the card during shipment if the cards slides around and then sticks to the tape. Normal size cards would probably be OK, but thicker cards with a patch, jersey, or bat can definitely get stuck to the tape in transit. I always use team bags when mailing cards.
Unless you buy online, stamps are now 55 cents. And I heard eBay now takes 10% of your shipping fees. Do you sell outside of eBay?

Eh, I guess we can agree to disagree on the shipping. I ship out 15-20 orders a day in the $3-10 range, and being able to ship them for under $1ea helps bolster the bottom line. Especially since I already charge $0.99 on shipping on all my items
I always use team bags too, graded card bags for larger orders. Scotch tape with a little peel tab (curl the scotch tape at the end and stick it to itself), makes for residue-less toploaders. I fricking HATE when people use too much tape, even though I always put cards in new toploaders anyway and trash the ones that they were sent in
You can buy stamps in bulk online for significantly cheaper on places like eBay. eBay just takes 10% of the final cost, shipping included. Makes perfect sense. I don't use it often though, only for graded cards. I use TCGPlayer

how much were you paying per draft box? I'm kicking myself for not ordering a few boxes when they were $150

I am not familiar with TCGPlayer. How long you do business with them? You must have a nice stash of LSU players. I guess anything Burrow is through the roof right now. eBay sent me 15% off offer for trading cards. They never sent me that before. It's so tempting.

I wish they'd let Shameless do breaks again

I already have all of the 2019 LSU players autographed cards. I got Joe B pretty cheap at $185. The only one not out there is Thaddeus Moss hopefully he is in one of the upcoming sets. Also I am a lifelong collector I just starting getting into autograph cards about 10 years ago. The truth I missed on buying the Kobe Bryant cards about two years ago I could have gotten several cards for about 100.00 but now they are going for thousands and I didn’t get them anyway RIP Kobe.

Honestly, if you are looking for LSU autos and dont care the product, I would wait until the summer when more cards come out and the Prizm's go down in price. Right now they are new and the only descent product with draft pick autos so they are a little pricey.

Been buying on there for probably 7 years or so, just started selling about 6 months ago. They only do Trading card games though

I would gladly start doing them again. I already have a twitch account setup

Damn that's sweet. You just working on the base autos? I'm starting to work on the mojo prizm (/49) autos.
Have Clyde, Queen and Phillips. About to get Chaisson and Delpit. I did get a neon green /25 Jefferson auto which should be coming in today. Cant wait to see that beauty.

I just want the autographs but I did buy a LSU mini helmet with about 35 LSU guys signing it from the 2019 season. I was worried even though it came with certificate of authenticity but every autograph on it matches the cards I bought. It has Chase, Emery, Davis, Marshall, Stingley jr, which I think will be great players at the next level when they leave LSU.

All the draft stuff Plummets every year when the pro uniform stuff comes out, for those waning the Lsu uniform stuff just be patient and wait, you are paying a premium right now for something that won’t appreciate

Or some people don't really care about the cards' value, and are just collecting the cards they really want

or just sell before that stuff comes out...

We will definitely be bidding against each other in the near future.

I'm sure we already have
I've lost so many auctions so far on a last second $0.50 bid snipe

I just picked up a Jefferson Prizim Rookie Auto. Don't care if I overpaid. I'm big on Jefferson, Burrow, & Clyde being stars in the NFL.
