he hasnt been dropped from his label. They simply wont be playing that tired arse MNF song anymore. He is still going to get to play his music at concerts. He is still going to get to release albums.
The only thing he lost was a bit of an intro to a football game. You are the one blowing this out of proportion sir.
and just b/c what he said does not offend YOU does NOT mean comparing the President to Hitler does not offend anyone else.
And please dont try to say "it was a bad analogy" b/c his other feelings on the President made it very clear that Obama would be Hitler in that analogy.
If I disagree with you on subject and say, "Hey, what you are saying is like when KKK members called blacks animals!" would you take that as a simply analogy or would you take that as me calling you an out and out racist?

I agree. I think its stupid news channels have entertainers on to discuss politics. Hank should not be doing these kinds of interviews.
Why is Clooney, Penn, & Affleck not fired for calling Bush (W) mean-spirited names?

"News" channels are really more entertainment than anything else. Look at the headlines, Casey Anthony, Amanda Knox, Lindsay Lohan, etc, etc.

Because are not the (compensated) public face of a major network show, a show whose crosses all political lines.

he was dropped from doing the intro to MNF because the powers that be felt that people may think his views may be viewed upon by members of the broadcasting company. Regardless of what albums he still makes (I don't know much of his music, is he still making albums?) he was dropped from a long standing deal he had for a remark he made

he didn't say Obama was Hitler he made the point that the two sides playing Golf together was strange as the two are somewhat enemies.. (not that I agree with that statement but I don't find it offensive) its like Tiger playing golf with his x father in law, or John Kerry quail hunting with Cheney . Its two people who don't like each other and in his eyes is strange.

it cuts both ways my man.
open your eyes and see that it comes from both sides.

being dropping from an intro to a game is quite a bit different from getting dropped from a label and not getting to put out music anymore. He essentially lost a sponsorship deal and that happens all the time when big name people who are corporate faces say stupid things.

he did not directly call Obama Hitler. I agree. But when you use an analogy to describe something you are implying that they are somewhat similar. HW is clearly conservative so when he makes that analogy its only natural to think he may be implying he is comparing Obama to Hitler. Again, it does not matter that YOU do not find it offensive. There are clearly people who did who called in to complain and ESPN/Disney decided that HW wasn't worth the trouble.

I'll try to be more clear.
Say we are debating a given subject. I tell you that what you just said/did is like the KKK going to lynch an innocent black man.
Are you really going to brush that off as a simple analogy or are you going to think that I just called you a blatant racist? Do you think most people would think that was no big deal or do you think most would wonder if I just called them racist?

you are correct, it does co e from both sides and nor do I agree with the notion that both sides are sworn enemies we need both sides to work together to get us out of the shite we are in but you can't say that things are equal on both sides. For years you had every comedian making fun of Bush left and right Now its done to the current president, you are banished and labeled a racist. Its getting hard to keep an open mind when ever you dis agree with a policy or an action you are quickly labeled a racist. Just as many right wingers you have that are closed minded like ol Hank, you have just as many on the left. I just get sick to my stomach when something is said about the chosen one Obama, its the end of the world and "how dare they" when not so long ago, it was the other way around with little back lash

I see what your saying but I think its what people want to hear he made a statement that people looked for something in. That seems to be more and more the case these days. He could have said its like the PKK playing golf with the blank panthers. That's similar to what he was saying. two sides that hate each other If he would have said that, I'm sure it would have caused an uproar but the same point Maybe I'm just nieve or that open minded, but I don't look into things that much. I understand what you are saying, I just don't see it as HW making a jab at Obama or comparing him to Hitler. You said it yourself, given his right wing stance, that had to be what he meant. I just don't see it that way. I'm sure they are getting just as many calls for dropping him as they were for what he said. The problem is this PC world that no one can get offended in

comedians always rip on the President. Its what they do. I see plenty of them rip on Obama without getting called racist. Political comedians Bill Maher from the left and Dennis Miller from the right do it all the time. All the late night hosts dump on him. I have seen black and white comics attack him.
Bush got attacked b/c he was an easy target on top of being the President and comedians always attack easy targets and Presidents.
Hell, Chevy Chase practically started his movie career off of making Gerald Ford look like a buffoon on SNL.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. Hell, I laugh (ed) at most of them. This is America and we have that right. With Obama, it takes a whole new angle. I'm know it still goes on but not no where near as it did before. Now when you do its "racist" take the sign in NO last week a politically charged sign but becAuse it was against Obama, It was "offensive to all people of color" I guess I'm getting off topic, but it seems that people are reading into things way to much to support their side.

They also didn't sound like ignorant rednecks in their statement. Hank literally said nothing of value during that interview, besides bash politicians for compromising

Thought he straight up compared Obama to Hitler, which is simply not the case. Sure it was a bit extreme, but I doubt ESPN would have suffered a bit had they kept playing the song. Looks to me like they have been looking for an excuse
