and it's such bullshite that your fanbase won't own to the fact that it's exactly what you are trying to do. your papers around there refer to it as UL, as most everyone else there does. and not just sports. why would a school want to have a different brand for athletics is beyond me, creates confusion between your academic and athletic products.
just own it, you want to be UL, but have no justification for it.

Yeah, let's brand the athletic department differently than the university as if they aren't connected. LSU may not be an academic powerhouse but apparently ULL is a bunch of retards if they think that's how marketing works.

im just saying, before anyone can establish themselves as flagship number 2, they need justification as to why it should be them.

They don't say university of Louisiana athletically. Hud does but he's just a salesman. There's nothing illegal about branding Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns or Louisiana. ULM tried it for a while as well. Don't see the bitching about them

As a ULL grad I could care less what they are called. I really dont see a problem with being called Louisiana Lafayette but Ull hasn't and can't file any motions to actually become the University of Louisiana. It's not possible for them to win it in court. They can continue to brand themselves with things such as Louisiana painted in the endzone, Louisiana on the helmets and on the jerseys. There is nothing wrong or agaisnt the rules about doing that. It's just a branding thing and why ESPN refuses to call them Louisiana. A small group of ULL fans are total pussies when it comes to this and it's pretty embarassing. I like the look of Louisiana int he endzones and on the jerseys but i dont expect anyone to actually call us that.
