The Clippers might be the favorite to me.
Same story, different year. I've heard it all before.

Clippers are a hot pick for everyone (as before), and Spurs are underrated (as before). More likely than not, the Spurs will win the West again (as before, the past 2 years).

How many weeks is the season? I know they have 18 of them scheduled.

Right, but he has one! Unlike Van Gundy, VG's personal favorite (besides himself) Patrick Ewing, Malone/Stockton, Dwight Howard (in a few years), etc., who have none. Those guys are not champions IMO.

Chris Paul is smack dab in his prime, and Blake Griffin is getting better every year.

I really think the Spurs achieved what they wanted, and now the same motivation won't be there. They were locked in all regular season and postseason last year. That's mentally draining. I don't know if they'll be able to pull that off again.

But who the hell was supposed to beat Jordan and Pippen's Bulls? It was just impossible. The second best team in the history of the NBA would have no championships during Jordan's prime.

The Rockets still would have won those two. But that's a different story.

Knew Jalen would say Griffin.

And I hear him. Griffin is great.

Zach Lowe seems really likable to me. I like his TV personality.

No one knows for sure, of course. But it's crazy to predict that the Clippers - who have yet to make it to the Western Conference Finals, let alone win them - will win the West, even with a prime Chris Paul (which he supposedly was last year as well) and Blake Griffin.

I hate Griffin, but he has gotten insanely good. 3rd best player in the league last year imo.

I like him a lot. Best NBA writer. He just looks like he could potentially steal my cc info

Crazy? They were pretty much just as good as the Thunder last season. They just didn't catch too many breaks in that series.

The West is deep. There are quite a few teams who could make a run.

Yep.

The Clippers have two of the best five players in the league.

Yet it's crazy to think they could win the West.

I guess a part of him looks like he could be one of the friends in Wolf of Wall Street.

And they're gonna be playing with a lot less of a circus going on around them, now that Sterling is gone.

I don't care what anyone says. That had an effect on that team.

ETA: Doc Rivers just now kind of hinting that it was tough on them.
