If you all would allow me some analogies from other physics ...
a. A second baseman has a quick back swing on a double play. A pitcher has a very slow back swing. The pitcher throws a lot harder.
b. A snake has a slow back swing a very fast strike.
c. If you've ever used a bull whip it's a slow coil and then fast forward motion.
d. An archer takes a very slow draw back and then releases fast.
e. A discuss thrower starts very slow and accelerates.
It seems to me that a slower back swing would result in more restored energy converted to kinetic energy.
The only exception I can think of is badminton. The back swing is very fast because the racket is so light. Perhaps modern golfers can do this because the new golf clubs are so light.
I had some 1964 Ben Hogans. I think the driver weighed twice as much as the one I use now.

The biggest difference between the pro swing and amateur swing is the pros practice on average 36 hours a week on golf. not counting rounds of play.
they make flush contact 99% of the time.
If I could practice 36 hours a week for a year I would be a +2

Uh, OK, so, why don't you go out and play golf? It's not illegal. Not even in North Korea.
