I think this was the first time I have ever watched a the entire army/navy game. It was a great game, and I found myself emotionally invested in it. I think that is why I choked up when Steelman broke down. I feel bad for them. That's a tough way to end your football career. Nevermind the fact that he's in the service.

I ALWAYS watch THIS game. Its STILL PURE emotional football. NO PRO contracts on the line. Just a BUNCH of KIDS that will give EVERYTHING they have to be their BEST.

I agree. When I left the room Army was driving w/ under 2 minuets and when I get back Steelmans' bawling his eyes out. With all the pageantry that surrounds this game and seeing him be so emotional was a very poignant moment

Edit: Let's not feel too sorry for Steelman . . . Once chics see him crying like that, he'll have to try not to fumble all the panties being thrown his way. I mean the guys name is Steelman and he cries . . .

Acutally it's double jeopardy. They get to go the White House for the formal presentation.

Steeling (the ARMY QB) reaction was the most gut wrenching I have ever seen. I have to think it was more than the loss itself - also the realization that his days of football are over.

There are alot of grudge matches in football, alot of historical rivalries. But I don't think you can name another game that means more to the players and fans/members than this game. Maybe it's the history of what 100+ yrs, or maybe it's the fact that it's the two service academy's. But you can just feel it watching the game no matter how close or a blow out.

it's 2 universities where you literally don't leave after graduation day... you spend at least what... 2 to 4 years in the Army, Navy or Marine Corps (and for many it's their lifelong career)... so these games between the service academies do mean a lot more to the student-athletes, other students & alumni... even members of the armed services that didn't go to the school.

it's a much stronger rivalry than any other in the country

I didn't catch the whole game, but please tell me I didn't miss Biden in the booth with Uncle Verne and Danielson

Those shots of Steelman are just too much, that digs deep.
