Honestly, it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever to compare this team to teams that came before the 2000s, so in that sense, yea I would definitely say that this LSU team was the greatest of the modern era
That opinion will get a lot of pushback by people here who try to play contrarian, but you really can’t dispute the fact that we beat seven top 10 teams, and put up record breaking offensive numbers... besides Clemson, and maybe bama and auburn, none of our games ever felt like they were gonna slip away. It was such a dominating year for LSU

I would say the modern college football game should start somewhere around 03/04.
IMO, comparing this team to teams within that span, I would say that they are the best.

interesting..seem like Nebraska 95 way more dominant throughout the year than lsu 2019 . what am I missing
Nothing at all
I think people who are defending LSU are saying "WELL LSU WOULD BEAT THEM ON THE FIELD"
Of course they would, that shouldn't even been in the equation though.
The 2018 LA Rams would Smoke the 1972 Miami Dolphins.
Doesn't mean shite though really since the 72 Dolphins are one of the best team ever.

I agree to that
Hard to compare eras as the game changes
