It’s a tough play to call as contact is unavoidable. I would prefer they just completely eliminate any type of immediate cross route at the goal line

Same. Clemson executed it last year against Alabama way better than Georgia just did.
All you have to do as an offensive player is get in the way

Why would you be ok with such a dumbass rule? Simply eliminating crossing routes on the goal line?
Football coaches have been running rub and pick plays since the forward pass was invented. Defensive coaches know how to avoid them, it's all about maintaining different levels and spacing, but instead they're starting to use officials as crutches to bail them out.

That route is not defendable on the goal line. If you want to allow it okay that’s fine i personally would prefer they get rid of it or call an automatic penalty if contact happens
