What did Franklin do?

From wikipedia:

On October 1, 2005, according to the Chicago Tribune, during a game between Notre Dame and Purdue that Franklin was calling, sideline reporter Holly Rowe praised Purdue defensive coordinator Brock Spack for using all three timeouts on defense despite trailing by four touchdowns late in the game. "If the coaches are giving up," Rowe added, "what does that say to the players?" Franklin responded: "Holly, it's not giving up. It's 49-21, sweetheart."

Well barner, he admitted to finebaum that he was wrong saying cody should have gotten a penalty against tenn. He said that peterson caught the ball but smelley didn't and the only obvious catch was smelley. IMO, most the times that plays are reviewed, he's always wrong. The only thing I like about verne and gary is that they're always pimping our 12 national championships, which I assume gets on yalls nerves. And everyone knows how good tebow is, but Gary makes sure that everyone knows it.

Gary is the best to me no doubt...

He actually understands football.

Many of times he will see a formation and say "So and So likes to run this play out of this formation watch for it" then in a seconds you watch the exact play he described being ran....

he is a great football mind

Danielson is too negative for me. He frequently goes beyond breaking down the game and starts to criticize the players and coaches for things he perceives as mistakes. That is probably why some people feel he is biased towards one particular team in a lot of games he calls. Just my 2 cents.

Franklin and Blackledge would be the CBS dream team.

To me gruden is the best NFL analyst out there. I'm so glad they replace cornheuser, or however you spell it, with gruden.

What is a "No it all" as compared to a "Know it all"

I like Danielson.

I just realized that Danielson is the reason I felt like I was at the dentist's office while watching the big games this year...especially the Florida game. That was a torture.

GD calls plays before they happen. Other than that he annoys me.

Yes, Gary Danielson is knowledgeable about things concerning college football. But a lot of his predictions are "duh" moments. Take the Alabama-Tennessee game for example. The first field goal Lincoln made, Danielson commented on how the kick was low and that it would be interesting to see if that continues. Common sense would tell you that, if the kick is too low, it will eventually get blocked. That isn't a prophecy. It's something I could have just as easily spotted. Also the Julio Jones lined up against a safety call in the LSU game is another example. Great call but another common sense call that any average QB could spot. If your best receiver is lined up against a safety who is playing soft zone, you throw him the ball as quickly as possible.

Gary Danielson would be a so much better color analyst if he would just call the game and not insert his personal opinions into the broadcast. There's a reason why he's in the booth and the coaches are down on the field. Danielson's stats in college and in the pro game were some of the worst of any QB in the history of the game. Let the coaches make the decisions and let Danielson just tell us what is happening. There is no need for any second-guessing or making statements about not understanding what the coach is doing.

well he went on finebaum and apologized for being wrong about repeating how wrong cody was and how they should re-do that play.
