FSU at Clemson: Who wins? The ACC.

When Florida State plays in Clemson, South Carolina this weekend, it will be only the 4th time since 1992 two ACC teams have met while both being ranked in the top 5.
The ACC has had its share of disappointments. Although the ACC won the second BCS trophy since the BCS's inception, it hasn't won one since. Optimism seemed to be on the horizon when Virginia Tech and Miami joined the ACC shortly thereafter. However, Miami hasn't even won the conference since it joined in 2004. Virginia Tech has fared better, winning the conference 4 times since it joined. However, even Virginia Tech has proved a disappointment time after time, season after season (compiling a BCS record of 1-5).
Now, after 13 years, the ACC is back in BCS Title contention. Both FSU and Clemson look damn strong, and each team has the look of a champion. However, even if one of them wins out, it may not be enough to get in over an undefeated Oregon and an undefeated SEC team (or even a 1-loss SEC team).
BUT, there is hope for the conference. The ACC now has 4 teams in the top 25, and 3 in the top 10. Clemson, FSU, Maryland, VT, and Miami have a combined record of 22-2. The ACC is no longer a conference of disappointment, at least not this season.
At Clemson this weekend, one of two teams in the top 5 will fall, but at least the ACC will not.
ETA: Thank you for the correction, 12697.

I think FSU takes it in a 45-42 type game

ACC has really gotten weak

It's gonna be a good one, that is for sure, but I think FSU pulls it out.

Doesn't matter, both of them will lose to their SEC in-state rival on the last weekend.

this
as for who wins this one, I think FSU gets it done on the road.

I think South Carolina beats Clemson, but you've lost your damn mind if you think FSU loses to UF. Jameis Winston is going to do bad things to that defense.

If Clemson or FSU remains undefeated, but Oregon and Bama do as well, then Clemson and FSU will be left out. This is essentially a certainty.
However, if Clemson or FSU remains undefeated and Oregon does as well, there is no way a 1 loss SEC team will jump either Clemson or FSU. While they may have jumped an undefeated OSU team due to SOS, I don't see how either Clemson or FSU would get jumped by a one loss SEC team. They (and espeically Clemson) is already too high up in the rankings.

i was somewhat facetious in my prediction

eh...Florida's O won't be good enough, TBH. And I do think JW is legit at QB too.

Why do I get the feeling that no one actually read my post?

FSU's D is comparable to Florida's D, so what you're saying is that you'll take Murphy's offense over Winston's.

Just messing with you.
We're lucky to get UF on our schedule every year to give us some street cred, but the lack of Acc success hurts our perception.
By the time we get to Florida, most voters' minds are made up about the rankings. ( usually due to a crappy loss by us )
Havin Clemson (and to a lesser degree Miami) be good this year and get a win over an sec team will certainly help the FSU cause.
It has been rare to have a mid-season marquee matchup that can vault an Acc team to the top.
I'm not sure that a win is going to be enough though. We'll have to get style points vs Clemson and UF to have a shot of jumping to #2.

May put a couple units on Clemson +3

I take Clemson because they're a much better team at home.
