Chris Doyle resigned from Jaguars coaching staff tonight.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Thursday that they have hired former Iowa strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle to join Urban Meyer’s staff as director of sports performance. Doyle and Iowa parted ways in June after allegations surfaced from former players of racial disparities within the Iowa football program, primarily involving Doyle.

Doyle, considered to be Kirk Ferentz’s right-hand man in the program, has been with Iowa since 1999 and was one of the highest-paid strength coaches in college football. According to the separation agreement reached between Doyle and Iowa, Doyle received two separate payments of $556,249.50. on August 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021, as part of the separation agreement.

Forty to 50 players came forward with allegations of racial disparities during Doyle's time at Iowa. One current player, cornerback Matt Hankins, published a story in June about an experience with Doyle.

Chris Doyle’s workouts put 13 Iowa players in the hospital. He wasn’t fired. He got an award & became CFB’s highest-paid strength coach.
Doyle was accused of racial bias by multiple Black players. He got a $1.1 million separation package & only took 8 months to find a new job.

Reporters, when you get on these Zoom calls with Urban Meyer, please don't ask him about his "controversial" hire of Chris Doyle. Ask him why he hired a guy who was fired after 20 years for multiple allegations that he made racist remarks against the players he was hired to help.

oh my god he hired chris doyle

Former longtime #Iowa strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle, with whom the school cut ties following allegations by former players about racial mistreatment, will join Urban Meyer's staff with the Jaguars.

Urban on Chris Doyle: I’ve known Chris for close to 20 years. He was doing sports performances before it became a high priority in college. Coach, GM, owner vetted him thoroughly.

I don’t think this explanation is enough.

this is 100 percent indefensible, and not the first time urban has hired a prominent assistant who lost his last job for treating his players like sh t. doyle trying his mess with grownups? what?

Couldn't be a better endorsement of Urban's hire than this mouth-breather's disapproval.

Not a good look in this day and age
Probably over 100 qualified for that job and he could have had the pick of anyone
I wouldn't have gone there
You know those NFL guys are going to challenge him

I've alway hated Urban... He's a total prick. But after his excellent insights on Big Noon Kickoff and how this move makes all of these Marxists piss their pants...i have done a full 180.

Get this man a coat.

A bigger controversy would be hiring Billy Davis as LB coach.

Dude is seriously the best in the business and sad he will probably never get another chance. All because some cultures can't follow rules and think they are above them.

Why? Facts and statistics dude... the truth hurts. This dude was railroaded because the iron was hot at the time and these guys who can't hack it struck that iron.
