Football coaching hypothetical

Let's say your a head coach whose defense is on the field. Score is 0-0 in 1stQ. You have a team backed up at their own 5. Next play their QB drops back into end zone and throws an interception that you return back to their 10 yard line. During that play refs throw a flag on the other team for holding in the end zone. Do you accept that penalty?
Accepting results in a safety and getting the ball back, but in far worse field position
Declining the penalty results in no points but you get the ball at their 10.

Take the points and the ball. It’s not even close. Because you’re going to also shorten the game and guarantee yourself points. Plus you put them in position to chase points later

i think it really depends on which team you are coaching
if you are shite on offense maybe just decline the penalty so you arent gonna be punting it to the 40 4 plays after the kickoff

I tend to agree. If this is LSU/Bama and LSU gets the ball at the 10, I'd rather get a great chance at 7, and at worst 3, then get a sure 2 and then just punt
