They are going to be bad next year regardless, might as well take the rook and build for the future.
That's kinda what I meant.
I should have phrased i "long term business eyes."
Everyone has been lauding Luck as the best QB to enter the draft since Manning.
Luck gives them better Long term upside, or so the believe.

It was a bad idea, and probably the result of some LSU homerism, than any actual rational thought

go ahead, everything is crystal clear with 20/20 hindsight.
There is not a team in the league that would have given GB for Flynn half that they would have given Indy to draft Luck.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Indy could have had Flynn and the top pick. The top pick's value is still Luck. So, I don't see what the price of Flynn has to do with the value of the opportunity to draft Luck.

Of course. I just don't think the idea is as far fetched as this thread made it out to be. Get Flynn, and deal the top pick for more picks. And build a new team. Luck is an unknown NFL commodity, which somewhat applies to Flynn as well. However, Luck + that shitshow they put on last year looks like a recipe for disaster. I can just see the value of getting Flynn plus a number of other picks to build around him vs. just getting Luck. But, hey, maybe Luck will be the next Manning.... or, maybe he will flop and Flynn will be. You said it:
