I'm glad someone was paying attention.
It was just a little trash talking.

But it does seem like a good topic.
Is there a reason for such an awful bowl run?

I'll address the question about ND's bowl history as it applies to this year.

Given their independent status and lack of specific bowl tie-ins, they aren't slotted by their conference ranking, and bowls can elect to pick them over the natural tie-in.

This tends to result in the ND brand playing a larger role in selection rather than the actualy quality of the team.
The bowl over-valuing ND results in them playing a better team and losing.

Although the personnel and coaching staff has changed over the years,
I'm simply implying that the bowl bias has not, and they are likely to have the same results.
(i.e. losing to a better team that was slotted appropriately).

Well, they also had terrible matchups even when they were decent in recent years.

In 2001 Fiesta Bowl, they played the best Oregon State team probably ever with Chad Johnson.

In the 2006 Fiesta Bowl, they ran into an Ohio State team that was damn good and probably just about as good as the NC playing team the next year.

In 2007, they ran into the 2006 LSU Tigers, who many consider to be superior to the 2007 version that won the title the next year.

Thats some bad luck, and yes, a lot has to do with them being bumped into matchups they don't deserve as a team but because of their draw.

FSU all the way for me. ND has looked like garbage every time I watched them. If Manuel didn't get hurt against OU, I think FSU has a completely different season. Better athletes, better QB...FSU!

I like ND and the points plus I think Floyd has monster game. I think he and Blackmon are 1/1A in WR this year.

I would have liked to seen Collaros in this offense full time. Notre Dame would have been very good offensively.

I honestly think the FSU-ND game hurt attendance of the Cap One bowl a little bit. All local support will go towards that game. Obviously the local team of FSU against a big name ND (regardless of their record) and 3 days later its an SC team, while ranked high and lead by Spurrier, still isn't a big name against the #20 ranked Nebraska team. Who is a bigger name than SC but not as big as they weere in previous decades.

And to support that this is the 1st ever sold out Champs Sports bowl where as I think the Cap One Bowl will be like 55,000 tickets sold out of 70,000 that the Citrus Bowl seats. And most of each school's allotment have been sold.
