Yes, if you have no connection to LA other than you thought it was cool to pull for them as a kid.
20+ years of pulling tampons out of my vagina is my connection to them.

I've never gotten what joy you can get out of rooting for a team thousands of miles away from you that you have no affiliation with

I must say, my whole family is from New York, I've spent copious amounts of time there.
I've never met a person that switched alliegances from either of those franchises to the other.
NYC is the biggest frontrunning town of the traditional sports cities (I won't insult NY by saying they're worse than Miami).

Also, as I stated previously, there was a period in the late 90s where the Sox had more games broadcast on WGN than the Cubs
It started getting = about that time.

As a Sox fan growing up in the same period, the broadcasts may not have been equal, but were similar.
Similar???? HUH??

If New Orleans ever got a baseball team, I'd probably start to support them. Does that make me a bad fan or a good fan?

I can't WAIT to ditch my Mets for MY PELICANS!

Sorry, but it's not been a last 5 years thing. As a Sox fan growing up in the same period, the broadcasts may not have been equal, but were similar. I watched plenty of Sox games on WGN when I was at LSU in the early 2000s. Also, as I stated previously, there was a period in the late 90s where the Sox had more games broadcast on WGN than the Cubs.
not in LA. dont know if it was a regional thing or not
i can say with 100% conviction that wasnt the case where i grew up. the cubs were literally on daily

The WORST example of this is MIKE LUPICA. Comes on the Sports Reporters on Sunday morns and SUCKS NY sports teams arse. He is supposed to be A NATIONAL GUY, but he is fricking TERRIBLE!!! I know he writes for a NY paper, BUT don't come on a NATIONAL NETWORK and SUCK NY DICK.

I'd support the shite out of the New Orleans Pelicans.

All Cubs games were on; White Sox games were on occasionally.

The Cubs were on nearly every day here in BR in the late 90s and early 2000s. The White Sox were probably on half as much, if that.

Mets/Yankees and Islanders/Rangers are both huge rivalries. For whatever reason, Jets/Giants isn't.

Its alot BIGGER THAN YOU THINK!!!!! They don't play as often as the other two examples you said, BUT ITS A STRONG RIVALRY!!!!!!!!!

Islanders/Rangers play six times a year.
Jets/Giants play 0.25 times a year.
That's probably the biggest reason why.

The Jets and Giants fricking share a stadium. Not much hatred there.

I'm a Cowboys/Lakers/Yankees/Red Wings/Manchester United/Brazilian national soccer team/Alabama college football/Duke basketball fan.
I'm a fricking diehard, brah. Lifelong.
