It’s a sporting event fans pay money to watch. So what if they say something out-loud at a player. He was just being a fan. He wasn’t even heckling him. I think a pro athlete should handle what fans say better than that. If he can’t ignore that then he has serious issues and opposing fans should egg him on.

They are being paid to entertain through their competitive sport. As long as the guy isn’t being over the top the athletes need to embrace the atmosphere.

I really used to like watching Lebron. Never watch him now as he has become completely over the top into himself.

Many of the stars in the NBA do not embrace it as a sport and entertainment. They think they are entitled to have their arse kissed for playing a sport.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at that dinner party.

The night an angry young heavyweight boxing champion by the name of Mike Tyson sat down to eat with basketball superstar Michael Jordan.

Tyson’s longtime friend and manager Rory Holloway recalls the dinner in his new book, “Taming the Beast: The Untold Story of Mike Tyson.”

He was present at the Chicago restaurant along with Tyson, Jordan, Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, star defensive end Richard Dent and boxing promoter Don King.

quote:

It happened sometime after Tyson had divorced his first wife, actress Robin Givens, and he was taking the separation hard.

What made the situation explosive was that Jordan had dated Givens before she met Tyson.

“Mike Tyson’s sitting there with his drink of choice, a Long Island Tea, and when he drinks his real feelings come out …,” Holloway writes.

“I’m telling the server to water his drinks down ‘cause I see where this is going. Mike stares across the table at Michael Jordan. He says, ‘Hey man, you think I’m stupid? I know you f—-d with my b—h.’

“Jordan looks like he just seen a ghost. ‘I know you messed with her,’ Mike says. ‘You can tell me.’

“Jordan, it’s obvious he just wants to get up and run. He wants no part of this. Mike turns to Ditka. ‘Man, you think somebody scared of you, all that racist s–t you been talking?’ He says to Dent, ‘Y’all scared of this damn white man, Richard? He ain’t nobody. You gonna let him talk that way?’

“It was a circus, for real, that night. Don King trying to change the subject. Me and John trying to hold Mike down. Mike telling everyone he’s going to bust Jordan’s arse. Jordan’s dressed sharp as always and he can’t get out of there fast enough.”

Oakley and Suge would be running for 90s Mike Tyson if they were smart too.

Oak gave zero fricks. He wasn’t running from anyone.

Also, Suge didn't have worry about Tyson because Tyson & Tupac were close friends.

Dent acknowledged Tyson did mention Givens in a conversation with Jordan -- "He spoke about Robin" -- but declined to comment further on the details or the tone of the conversation.

As if you'd do anything. Calling Jordan a bitch because he didn't want anything to do with a drunk Mike Tyson. Keyboard warriors.

Yet Charles Oakley punked Suge Knight in a club in Miami. Plus Suge wasn't the one to be afraid of. It was the M.O.B. Pirus like Big Bunchy that Suge had watching over him that you had to worry about but Oak gave zero fricks.

Old man Robert Parrish punked Jordan too.

That season, Robert Parish found himself in Chicago for his 21st season in the NBA. He had been part of the legendary Boston Celtic teams in the 80s, and just like everybody else, he was well-aware of Jordan’s dictatorial ways. However, Parish was a different breed. He did not let MJ push him around. The legendary center narrated one of his first practice sessions with the Chicago Bulls where Jordan tried to bully him.

quote:

“He was at half court and I was at the top of the key. I think he was a bit ticked off, too, because the second team was kicking their butt at the time and I was talking trash I didn’t back down. He said he would kick my butt, and I told him if he felt that strongly about it, come and get some. That was the end of it. We didn’t have another confrontation,” Parish shared on the Locked on Celtics Podcast.

Suge Knight was, at one point, one of the most feared men in the entertainment industry. He nearly portrayed the image of a rap Don who hardly thought twice before getting physical with anyone who disagreed with him. Of course, he's currently behind bars on murder charges but during his tenure at the top of hip-hop, he was a larger-than-life figure who can strongarm his way into any situation. And while he was feared by many, it appears there were a few individuals that he tried to avoid, as well.

quote:

That somebody happened to be Suge Knight. Pippen recounted the time he and Oakley were at a party together in Miami when Suge Knight entered the function. "I look up. I'm seeing all these people. Probably 3,4 feet from me," Pippen said. "They gettin' pushed around, knocked around. Me and Oak standing there, you know, we both of stature so we could see everything. People could see us."

While Pippen observed the number of people getting pushed around at the party, he saw Oakley lock eyes with Suge. "Oak turn around and look and he's like, 'Man, that's Suge Knight. He don't want none of this here smoke. I just had beef with him the other night," Pippen continued, revealing that Oakley's point was proven by Suge's distance from their section.

"It was like a storm going on over there. Wasn't nobody moving where we were standing and I'm like, 'Wow.' And it was basically Suge Knight walked around Oakley like that," he said, mapping out the movements with his index finger on the table. "That's what I saw."

Oakley added, "Sometimes, you don't gotta repeat nothin' when somebody tell you the truth. It is what it is."
