The man is like 80 years old and has met thousands of black people in his life so his views are obviously based on his life experience. I think it is ridiculous to form an opinion of someone based only on their race instead of their character but I don't think he is doing it because he is ignorant. I think he knows there are good black people but in his experience he has found that he doesn't like the majority of black people he has met so he just chooses not to associate with any of them.
ETA: Unless they are his frick toys or players but I don't think he views them as people.
