There are a lot more 5-A schools in south louisiana. The odds just aren't in their favor.

And they are a large school when it comes to enrollment. But the school with the most students in the state, Lafayette High, sucks at most sports. So enrollment numbers are only a small part of it.

The gripe I've heard is trying to run it like a college program. Meaning if you're a pitcher, you're a pitcher. A lot of talent only playing once a week instead of being in the lineup when not pitching. Not sure, that's just what I've been told.

Everyone I talked to last night thinks Shake will come back. I hope so. We were always in the state tournament with him and he beat Barbe in 99. Seemed like every year it was Barbe, WM, Jesuit, Brother Martin, Lafayette, and Hahnville with two other random teams.

He was already a starter so I don't see why.
