There is a reason guys opt to play soccer/basketball/baseball vice playing football. I've never met a soccer player that scared me.

If you had to race one for your life they'd scare you. They're really good at their sport. Why does it have to boil down to some sort of 'manly' competition. This is the stupidest discussion possible.

the notion that being an active participant in a SPORT makes you more of a man than people who play another SPORT, combat sports excluded.

It's for people who are incredibly skilled at their individual sport. Same as soccer.
The toughness in those sports is mental. The mental side of baseball is 10x harder than that of football. But really, who cares? They're different sports and should be enjoyed differently.

good question. I like baseball, but soccer does require more athletic ability plus I think it's a little more fun to watch.
