1. Ali outsmarted him.
2. Dundee illegally loosened the ropes before the fight.
3. Ref allowed blatant use of clinching by Ali. Frazier people raised hell with ref about it before Thrilla so he watched for it. Look at how many times George swings blindly and wildly while his head his clinched. Notice how he almost never gets a good shot on Ali while clinched.
4. Ali could take a punch better than almost anyone. He also stood toe to toe with Foreman a few times on exchanges. Got to Foreman's head and he let it affect him.
5. Foreman fell for Rope a dope. Frazier's tactics for ROD would've worked just as well for George. 5 rounds of George pounding on his arms, sides, and legs would've had the same effect.

Point is, why was there ever a rematch? These announcers were shilling for Ali the entire fight and are lobbying for a rematch post fight. If I'm Frazier I'm not taking a rematch. I already beat the hell out of the guy, why rematch?
Because George Foreman beat the frick out of him.
Also, the fight was very close.

True, but I disagree in that they beat the hell out of each other... I have zero issue with the decision. But it took everything out of Frazier. Pitiful to watch him try to get out of the ring. Exhausted, jaw JACKED up, and doesn't even seem to care that he won. Meaning he was just too exhausted to give a shite.
Frazier was in the hospital for 3 weeks after this fight.

first time really watching Ali. His jabs look funny. He rounds them instead of a straight jab
First time watching Ali?

The fight was stopped by the doctor , which I believe was complete BS . The fight was fairly close and an epic rematch. Doctor should have let Frazier answer the call for the 15th rd and let the boxers decide who wins
No, Eddie Futch called it.

all the shite Floyd gets for running and all Ali did was hug Frazier.

Ali held because if he hadn’t the fight would have maybe went 3 rounds. Zero idea who’d win. But they would just throw until someone woke up on their back. It would be like watching the best bar/street fight you’ve ever seen, but it wouldn’t be boxing.
I hate watching Floyd fight, but I still can admire a guy who can stand in their with world class fighters with a hand down and not get hit. Boring? Yes. Skillful? Absolutely.
