I have a belief that Russillo's role will get diminished so much he'll leave and SVP will follow him. I dream that they go to Fox Sports or something and re-fire up their radio show or do a podcast and just go off on ESPN. You know they both want to.

What they used to do. They aren't interested in that though.

What is that? Strictly highlights?

Do you know you can get highlights on Twitter and Youtube now?

In this thread its pretty much unanimous what people dont like about ESPN-its all the non-sports talk on a sports network. Is it asking too much for ESPN to stick to sports? Maybe (probably) they do need to trim some fat, but they really need to trim the political agenda as well.

I don't have specific dates of their decline compared to current direction. I'm open to looking at numbers.

Me either. Would definitely be interesting to look at.

They are losing subscribers because of cord cutting. I have no idea how they intend to stop the bleeding. It seems obvious that a channel dedicated to day-old highlights isn't the answer. It also seems that their current model isn't the answer.

@schadjoe
John Buccigross has sense of humor, timing and modesty; way of making people feel at ease on camera. More of that needed, not less.

Wow...I caught him the other night after an NBA game. Dude has that old school SC talent. He'll be picked up immediately.

Buccimane and SVP were the last of the old school-type guys. The purge is almost complete

On the Ryen front. He's currently on vacation. On his last day Thursday he said it's something that "just came up" and also mentioned something about house hunting. Idk if these two instances correlate but reading the tea leaves and Danny's cryptic tweet...something is unfortunately up. I'm scared af right now. Love Ryen and consider him the second best NBA analyst at that network (behind Lowe)

Russillo and SVP was the best sports radio show. Russillo has been the voice of reason fighting against hot takes and over reactions at ESPN.

I acknowledged this earlier.

But the cutters aren't tuning into streams of sports center and the debate style shows. IF they had better content to off on air, people would still tune in IMO. The current line up does nothing for the majority of people, so they can just cut the cord.

If you're hanging out in here hoping to catch Stephen A's farewell tweet, you can just go ahead and walk away now before your blood pressure goes up too much.

Russillo will go to barstool. He already has a relationship with them.
