New contract gets him $8 million year
quote:
The reported deal will make Smith ESPN's highest-paid sportscaster, passing Mike Greenberg's $6.5 million annual salary. Smith, 52, has a year left on his current contract. As part of the alleged new deal, the animated host will leave his ESPN Radio show next year.

I know a lot of people don’t like him, but I like Stephen A.

Anyone know what SVP pulls?

I agree. He's brash, and I almost never agree with him, but he's overwhelmingly fair-minded when it comes to differing opinions.

I thought he was making $10M a year already.

Stephen A when sticking strictly to sports is fantastic. He is Bayless like in his ability to make a crowd hate him for saying something, which is a talent. He and Bayless are a ton a like; great writers, used a gimmick to further their television career, power, and wealth, and when on their preferred subject, very knowledgeable (when not trying to irate folks)
Stephen A doing his original Fox basketball radio show was a great listen.

Skip and Stephen A on the same set, same show, arguing the same topics was a national treasure

I would love to see Whitlock and Stephen A have a show. I know people think Whitlock is a racist but that man is very fair and will give you concrete proof to his opinions. I loved reading Whitlock when he was a writer for the KC Star.
Whitlock makes Bob Ryan and Jackie Mac look like fools most of the time. He is that good.
When Woody Paige was a serious editorial writer he was a great read as well.
If Kornheiser and Bruno ever hooked up for a show after their years of duels on the radio, that would be great as well.

Wait, what????
Greenberg at 6.5 million a year???
SVP at only 4 million a year????
No wonder ESPN is losing so much money.

A lot of money to be wrong all the time. Can’t be mad at him for fooling some dumbasses to pay him that.
