This is something I've always wondered - does the ball need to break the plane or the body? Because the ball clearly is out of bounds when his foot hits the pylon.

Doesn't make sense. If you catch the ball with one foot in bounds at the 50 but the ball is behind you, they spot the ball where the feet were. Not where the ball was.

You are in bounds where your feet are, not where the ball is. That was a touchdown and those officials should be fired

Wrong. If you catch a ball with your whole body beyond the first down line but the ball is short they mark it where the ball is. Really nothing ground breaking here.

Which makes sense. If a guy is standing in the end zone and goes to make a catch where he falls back to the 1 yard line, that shouldn't be a TD.

How so? How many times have we seen players make a catch on a ball out if bounds but is ruled a catch due to their feet being in?
