I honestly don't care if he ever gets in, but it's kind of hard to be a top 5 QB when your competition every year is:
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Aaron Rodgers
All of which are considered top 5 or top 10 QB's of all time. That basically means only one spot available for the likes of
Matt Ryan
Phillip Rivers
Ben Roethisberger
Etc
Not all SB MVPs are created equal either. Putting up 17 and 21 points in his two is the epitome of defaulting to QB
Spags was the damn MVP of SB 42 for holding one of the greatest offenses of all time to 14 points

He went through a good portion of his career where fans and media repeatedly would call for him to be benched
Like, seriously. Always considered to be in that 3rd tier of active QB's, never getting a single MVP vote, never an all-pro.
Dude was the definition of mid

Are you talking about the 2007 defense when the Giants gave up the most points in the regular season out of all the playoff teams? The 2011 defense were the same, giving up a whopping 400 points. Only seven teams were worse that year.
Yes, the defense was much much better in the playoff and the Super Bowls but you do realize that they had to play 16 regular season games or do those not matter?

Plus, they didn't have any All-Pro's in 2007, just one Pro Bowler in Osi Umenyiora. In 2011, they had Jason Pierre Paul as their only defensive All-Pro and Pro Bowler. What a defense! You guys make it seem like those defenses were the 1985 Bears or the 1986 Giants.

He's basically Brett Favre. Good numbers, tough as nails, frustrating habit of throwing bonehead interceptions.

so what? Also he's most assuredly NOT in the top 10 of most major passing categories, I dont know where you got that.
My bad, Eli is:
11th in passi g yards
11th in TDs
11th in passes completed
9th in passes attempted
He is also a 2 time Super Bowl MVP and a Walter Payton Man of the Year.
