Again, it depends on your offense, who’s pitching against you, the opposing defense, is the wind blowing in our out.

Do you idiots not think EVERY data point isn’t considered when doing the analytical math? Including what you just said?

Analytics work great over the course of an entire season when the point is to score as many runs over the span of many games.

The equation changes in the post season. If bunting was always the wrong call then the best coaches in college baseball would never do it.

No it doesn't.

To be fair, I mean obvious sac bunting. Bunting for a hit is a different discussion.

Punting is almost always the wrong call and the best football coaches still do it.

Great rebuttal, everyone should start bunting based on this fact
would you take Cliff Godwin approach and his coaching results or Jay Johnson?

Approach and results are totally exclusive of each other

One coaches at LSU and the other at ECU

10 years ago I’d say there’s no way anyone can be this stupid, but I’ve learned that’s absolutely not true… somehow

take away Jay’s LSU resume for this argument. Remind me how many times Cliff has been to Omaha? You can go back to the golf board and lie to pride about how much you play.

1 CWS appearance with a school who’s athletic department is probably twice to three times the size of ECU

I’m not saying he’s not a good coach, I’m saying the point you’re trying to make is retarded

Not very often, but I’d still wax almost every single one of those dorks

Sorry you hate math but that doesn’t change the truth.

Coaches at all levels tend to be very risk averse and people in general don’t like change or being criticized. If you go against the established accepted strategy and it doesn’t work you will get blasted. So they stick with it. Even though it’s demonstrably the wrong move.
