Garza gonna lead the cubs to the NLCS.
hell, he might strain his neck from all the balls going out the yard

Two of the best hitters in basbeall, both in their prime. not to mention Rickie Weeks, poised for a breakout year (I know) A really good rotation, keyed by Gallardo and Greinke.
I think they were extremely unlucky last year, and they kept trotting out sub-replacement pitchers who got lit up. I don't think that repeats itself. Wolf has gone from their #2 starter to their #4. I just like the team.

I think the Brewers are going to be lacking in the bullpen. Also, Greinke and Gallardo should be legit (should), but the other 3 starters don't strike the fear of God in me.
If Wainright is out, I still think the Reds are the team to beat (Cards if Wainright is ok). Brewers are 3rd to me regardless.
ETA: I just read that Davis was released, and he's not listed on the active Brewers roster. Who's the other starter?

I think Marcum is going to end up being at least a 15 game winner this year for the Brewers, if he can stay healthy the entire year. 3.85 career ERA in the AL East is pretty impressive, IMO.

Could be Manny Parra

dont get it either
i don't think they have enough versatility throughout their lineup.
i like Marcum, but he has to prove it another year. Cory Hart and Rickie Weeks as well.
And their bullpen is a huge, huge question mark

I don't know if it's much of a question mark. On paper it looks pretty shitty. Any bullpen with LaTroy Hawkins in it has sucked since 2003.

Braves will win the World Series

Marcum is the #3 starter. I really like Marcum (as a #3 guy). I don't really worry to much about a pen, as you can build those on thf ly, but the Brewers do have Saito, who is one of the best middle relievers in the biz.
Chris McGehee's also about to have his Age 27 season at 3rd. I don't think the Brwers are this unstoppable juggernaut or anything, I just think it's a good, deep team with some elite level talents at its core. It's a pretty logical upset pick. you may not agree with it, but I don't think you can say it makes no sense.

At 1/7 chalk, I expected the NL East love. But, not enough WS crown love in this thread for the Fightins.

Phillies and Boston both struggle this year

Phillies 5 hole is a big question mark.

Fair statement. I wouldn't be shocked if the Brewers made the playoffs, but I would be surprised.

Beckett/Dice K/Lackey will all struggle again this year....
Phils will not stay healthy enough all season and will struggle

Just remember, every year there is turnover in the playoff teams (well, except for the Yankees). People assume a team will be good or bad because that's what happened last year, but standings tend to be fairly fluid from year to year. OK, the Orioles aren't going to win their division or anything, but you see my point.
A 75-win team in one season could win 90 games the next year just by getting a little luck and one player making the Leap.

Baltimore to the NL East... Marlins to the AL East

casey mcgehee.
and the dude has probably peaked.
his numbers dipped last year after he broke onto the scene in 2009
I mean we are talking about a former waiver guy, and not that no waiver guy has ever became a star; but that would be the next step should he have a breakout year. I just don't see it though.

Instead of all Marlins players moving to AL East, we move whole team there.
