Ridiculous trade. Ramsey has been washed for at least 2 years now. Fitzpatrick is like 3 years younger too.
I'm a Dolphins fan. I watched every game he played as a Dolphin Ramsey is not washed. He played great for Miami the past two years and I wish he wasn't leaving.
The trade is Ramsey and TE Jonnu Smith for Minkah. Some minor draft picks involved. Minkah had a bad season last year (by his standards) and is due for a new contract next offseason.
I like this trade for Miami, but I will defend Ramsey as he walks out the door.

I and many other dolphin fans are glad to see Ramsey gone. He is a cancer. Also, Ramsey has guaranteed money, Fitzpatrick doesn’t. Helluva trade for Miami but they have no one with a damn for TE.

I agree with most of this. I don't see Ramsey as a cancer. He just wants as much money as he can grab every step of the way.
We had the #1 offense in the NFL two years ago with nobody at TE. I think we'll be fine without Jonnu as he was a beneficiary of McDaniel's offense, not the driver of it.

Interesting to see the other side of this since I'm a Steeler fan. Glad to hear that Ramsey isn't totally washed, I think one of the bigger pieces of this is that Arthur Smith really like Jonnu Smith and did not hide this preseason that he wanted him on the Steelers roster.
Fitzpatrick is younger and still a very good player. I also wouldn't say that he had a bad season, but what every Steeler fan knows; that he was criminally misused for at least the last two years and maybe three.
My guess from all of this is that Khan knows that he can't sign Watt and Fitzpatrick both. Ramsey does not count against the Steelers cap this year and only counts for $12 million next year. That gives him a pathway to sign Watt, get a good secondary player that has one more year under contract and gives the offense a much needed extra piece all for a guy that you likely couldn't work into the cap next season anyway.

Personally, I'd rather get a Yackle type TE that's a superior run blocker. The Dolphins have been a soft team for decades. They need to get tougher up front on both sides of the ball.

Typical Pittsburgh. Lot of effort to go 9-9.

That's interesting. Fitzpatrick is already the third highest cap hit on the dolphins plus he'll probably be looking for a new deal soon.
