I think it's fair to conclude based on the stats you use that Tannehill is not below average and Landry does not belong in elite #1 category, what am I missing?

Dude their are 32 nfl teams.

If you are the 10-15th best wide reveiver, you are a "legit #1"

And for Tannehill, I said pages back I would have him right around 16. However, I pointed out he was below average compared to the qbs that throw to the top 15 qbs

Players right now who, at the very least, have an argument as being better WRs than Landry, meaning better or in the conversation, if you will:

Nelson
Evans
Adams
Brown
Beckham
Thomas
Dez
Cooks
Baldwin
Hilton
Demaryus Thomas
J Jones
A Cooper
E Sanders
Hopkins

It's arguable that he may be at the start of the bottom half, as opposed to closer to top 10.

ETA: I also wouldn't consider everyone of those legit #1 WRs either.

Perfect, here are those players with Landry added ranking by average of your 5 categories used earlier (Rec, yards, yds/game, tds, YPC), and median of your 5 categories

So I think ranking Landry the 10th best receiver is certainly very very reasonable. And I would say being the 10th best in a 32 team league would make you a legit #1

Not so fast.

You were using the "below average" moniker to point out that Tannehill was holding Landry back, right?

No adjustments for Sanders/Thomas/Hopkins based on your same logic? Or only Landry gets to use that argument?

And even with Dez, he obviously didn't have a deficient QB but with a rookie, they played everything as safe as possible and completely nuked Dez's skill set, I'm sure you'd agree. So you should factor that in as well.

I just wonder how you account for that, or why you wouldn't account for that, when this entire thing started because you called Tannehill below average, and that was affecting Landry's numbers

Absolutely they would also be helped with better QB play as well. Never have even remotely hinted otherwise

So it can at least be argued that they have an argument to be ahead of Landry based on bad Peyton and let's not even talk about the Texans QB situation.

Sure, but then Landry would have an argument to jump some people ahead of him as well....

Stolen take from LeBatard, but everyone gives Ben McAdoo credit as the QB whisperer, like it's some coincidence that Eli saw an uptick the moment Beckham bursted on the scene.

Y'all just need to consolidate the two threads y'all are arguing in.

Need a thunder dome thread

Pride and I are arguing in 2 threads?

I don't think so. But we are having 2 distinctly different arguments in this thread.

But it appears to be mostly dead now, so carry on!!!
