Do you even baseball bro?

I guess we will see in the year 2017 how effective this strategy is. It is amazing to me their record is as good as it is. Clearly helped by playing their division rivals in half their games. NL East is by far the weakest division in baseball. They are painful to watch.

Not a chance.

This dude is a joke
I don't understand why people are confused about the new coach part. Signing him to an extension for 1 more year makes people believe he will be the coach in a new stadium? I feel like logic tells you he is just there to ride out the rebuild...

Moustache was making light of him calling him coach and not manager

Even Braves fans are laughing at the Nats right now. Sweet second place with that roster. #PreseasonWorldSeriesChampsTho

People can be so fickle and nit picky. You know good and damn well what I meant when I said coach. Should we call them hitting managers, or base managers now?

Absolutely not. They are coaches.....

They don't have a clue, and as a fan, it's comical.

What would you have them do? They have gotten rid of the bad contracts, and taken on some good prospects in return. It seems we are going through a much quicker rebuild than the likes of the Astros who tanked for years to build through the draft. The only really thing anyone could question is trading away Alex Wood, but as it's been said many times, he has a high risk throwing motion that could lead to a lot of injuries.

quote:Agreed. Going to be hard to convince people to buy 2017 season tickets if they put a team out there that wins 120 games total in 2015-2016. Need to at least keep them semi competitive to fully hype the new park
I think it's just a matter of they don't want to be terrible while they're rebuilding. So they're getting a few useful players that don't cost him anything.

I would trade away every decent player that's come through the organization in the past 10-15 years.
wait..
wait..

KC, Pittsburgh & the Astros
those teams got better by picking top5 yearly, for many years. u better have a deeper franchise of talent when ur getting the top kids.
those teams werent on 2-3 year plans. some took many years to get to this level again.
Posted on 8/12/15 at 1:43 pm to stlslick
Exactly. The Royals were really bad for a decade.
Posted on 8/12/15 at 1:49 pm to stlslick
They went from 93-2012 without winning seasons which is basically a decade, but I see your point. Really bad for a long time.
Posted on 8/12/15 at 1:53 pm to td01241
And we heard all about the great Royal prospects.
Most were dealt before they hit their peak, or hit the star level, or were duds. Finally, some 20??? ish years later they find the perfect balance of veterans and farm players they developed.
retooling and starting from scratch does not always work.

We were all riding high on CJ for the longest time when he was going for the batting title, but since that season he has been an absolute disappointment. Terrible bat and equally terrible fielding.
And terrible counter of outs.
