After taking 4/5 against Atlanta and stretching the NL East league to 6.5 games, the Mets continue their home stand against the Reds. Justin Dunn will pitch for the Reds making his season debut. He is from Long Island and was a first round pick of the Met.

James McCann… what else can you say? He’s still not hitting. Even Tomas Nido is finding the grass more often. Even more concerning though is McCann’s defense. Several pitches got by him, he had an abysmal throw on a steal attempt, and even his framing looks bad. I can’t see him in Queens next season even with 2 years left on his deal unless it’s to “mentor” Alvarez.

It needs to be Nido and Alvarez next season. McCann is terrible.

I think they are expecting to promote Alvarez in September, so they didn't go out and get someone as a trade acquisition to block him.

Just a solid guy. Sprints to the 1st base bag every time after a walk just in case theres a passed ball. Thats heady play. Plays with heart. Big Tony loves him too.

Does it really? So they probably won't like my name?

Justin Dunn was part of our Winker/Suarez Seattle trade at the beginning of the year. Makes his rotation debut for us tonight. We'll find out real quick what he's worth against this quality Mets team.
