thousands of empty seats against a bad opponent is nothing new for Texas.
hell, it used to be so bad that when Mack Brown got there he had to start a "Come Early; Be Loud; Stay Late" campaign complete with billboards and t-shirts.

the worst big conference opposition is roughly equal to rent-a-wins... they don't become competitive or a bigger draw just bc "Big 12" is next to their name
